Training-Workshop for Peer Reviewers Using the Scopus and Thomson Reuters (ISI) Standards

A process both critical and substantial, SCHOLARLY PEER REVIEW serves as a buffer to publication. In the self-corrective nature of science, it is meant to act as a quality control and safeguards the integrity of the scientific literature. As a core to research publication, how do peer reviewers know the uses and abuses of this academic undertaking and become effective vanguards of journal quality?

With a goal of enhancing the knowledge and sharpening the capabilities of every peer reviewer, the Northwestern University in cooperation with Asian Society of Teachers for Research, Inc. invite you to its Training-Workshop for Peer Reviewers Using the Scopus and Thomson Reuters (ISI) Standards on October 15-17, 2017 at the International House, Northwestern University, Laoag City, Philippines.

Objectives:

  1. To learn the journal publication standards of Scopus and Thomson Reuters (ISI) as the framework of peer review;
  2. To determine the roles and functions of peer reviewers in the quality assurance system of scientific journals;
  3. To acquire skills in peer reviews; and
  4. To compare various peer review forms as basis for benchmarking.

Confirmation and Payment Details:

  • Registration Fee of the Training-Workshop is at 5000 pesos which is inclusive of two-day lunches, am and pm snacks, training materials, and certificates, among others. The participants are reminded that the Training-Workshop is in LIVE-OUT arrangement and thus, the hotel accommodation during the Training-Workshop will be shouldered by the participating individual.
  • Confirmation of Participation should be signed reflecting the participant/s’ Full Name and Affiliation to reserve a slot for the Training-Workshop.
  • Deadline of the submission of Confirmation of Participation and payment is on October 11, 2017, Wednesday.
