International Training-Workshop on Publishing Qualitative Research Results in High-Impact Journals

With most training-workshops in scientific writing for publication focused on the quantitative/descriptive design, there is a clamor for courses in the effective writing for publication of research articles in the qualitative kind. Both complex and multimethod in focus, qualitative research is exploratory in nature and seeks to explain the “hows” and “whys” of a particular phenomenon. As writing qualitative research articles is considered to be a creative endeavor with unlimited possibilities, how can qualitative researchers meet the standardized expectations of academic journals to merit its publication?

Aimed to capacitate every research author through skills development, the Asian Society of Teachers Inc. in cooperation with the Philippine School Doha invite you to the International Training-Workshop on the Publishing Qualitative Research Results in High-Impact Journals with Resource Speakers, DR. IMEE C. ACOSTA of the Virginia Commonwealth University, Qatar and DR. ALEXANDER S. ACOSTA of the Philippine School Doha, Qatar on May 28-30, 2018 at the Belian Hotel, Tagbilaran, Bohol, Philippines.

OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING-WORKSHOP:

  1. To select high-impact journals that publish qualitative research;
  2. To acquire skills in complying the requirements of peer reviewers and editors of qualitative research journals; and
  3. To translate qualitative research results to serve the beneficiaries.

Resource Speakers:

Dr. Imee C. Acosta, Virginia Commonwealth University, Qatar

A prolific author, researcher and speaker, among others, Dr. Acosta’s numerous endeavors reflects her penchant to research specifically the qualitative kind. Currently, an Adjunct Instructor of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts, her paper on the effects of workplace abuses of migrant workers was published by WIEGO and awarded the Best Manuscript in the International Conference in Business and Social Sciences 2014 in Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Alexander S. Acosta, Philippine School Doha, Qatar

With such excellent academic background and equally impressive skills to boot, Dr. Alexander S. Acosta has been the Principal for the Philippine School Doha, State of Qatar for 14 years. An in-demand speaker, His speakership engagements are centered on topics about leadership and education. His research interests are in the field of corporate and educational leadership as well as pedagogical approaches in education. Publications he authored and co-authored are published in Elsevier, Sage Publications and WIEGO, among others.

  • Registration Fee of the Training-Workshop is at 6000 pesos which is inclusive of two-day lunches, am and pm snacks, training materials, and certificates, among others.
