Among its various designs, the Sequential Explanatory Mixed Methods Research stands out for its clarity of purpose and logical elegance. It begins, characteristically, with the quantitative phase followed by a qualitative follow-up. This design mirrors the logic of curiosity itself: we measure first, then we make meaning. As part of the 2026 Mixed Method Design Webinar Series, the Asian Society of Teachers for Research, Inc. is inviting you to participate in the International Webinar on Explanatory Sequential Mixed Methods Research on June 4-5, 2026 (9:00 am-5:00 pm) via ZOOM Teleconferencing with our resource speakers Dr. Alexander S. Acosta of the Philippine School Doha and Dr. Imee C. Acosta of the Virginia Commonwealth University Qatar.

WEBINAR OBJECTIVES:

1. to define the explanatory sequential mixed methods research and understand its strengths and limitations;
2. to learn about the explanatory mixed methods research, including the process of data collection, analysis, and integration; and
3. to identify appropriate scenarios and research questions suitable for explanatory sequential mixed methods research.
