International Webinar on Explanatory Sequential Mixed Methods Research

June 4-5, 2026 (9:00 am-5:00 pm)
via ZOOM Teleconferencing

Reflecting the ever-evolving demands of contemporary inquiry, mixed methods research operates on the premise that the strengths of one method can compensate for the limitations of another, producing a more complete, nuanced, and credible understanding of research problem. A scholarly defiance against methodological monism, mixed methods research integrates worldviews; asserting that both numbers and narratives are indispensable in the pursuit of knowledge. Among its various designs, the Sequential Explanatory Mixed Methods Research stands out for its clarity of purpose and logical elegance. It begins, characteristically, with the quantitative phase followed by a qualitative follow-up. This design mirrors the logic of curiosity itself: we measure first, then we make meaning. Signaling a shift from methodological rivalry to methodological synergy, how can researchers leverage the power of quantitative analysis while preserving the depth of qualitative inquiry from data to insight, from patterns to perspectives?

As part of the 2026 Mixed Method Design Webinar Series, the Asian Society of Teachers for Research, Inc. is inviting you to participate in the International Webinar on Explanatory Sequential Mixed Methods Research on June 4-5, 2026 (9:00 am-5:00 pm) via ZOOM Teleconferencing with our resource speakers Dr. Alexander S.
