Webinar on AI-Assisted Peer Review Using the Scopus and ISI Standards
May 21-22, 2026
via ZOOM Teleconferencing
As gatekeepers of scientific knowledge, arbiters of scholarly truth, and referees of academic reputation, Scopus and the Institute for Scientific Information (now Clarivate Analytics) are widely regarded as twin sentinels of journal excellence, serving as shorthand for quality, proxies for rigor, and, increasingly, a currency of academic survival. As the gold standard in scholarly publishing, peer review aligned with their standards is not merely procedural but a critical scholarly responsibility that safeguards the credibility and impact of scientific knowledge. Traditionally, reviewers have been guided by three core questions: Is the work novel, is it valid, and does it matter? In the age of generative AI, however, a fourth question emerges: is the work genuinely authored or merely assembled? This shift requires reviewers to move beyond surface-level fluency and interrogate the depth of methodology, the authenticity of contribution, and the integrity of the research process. In an era where polished writing can mask conceptual weaknesses, the peer reviewer must exercise heightened critical judgment, ethical vigilance, and methodological scrutiny. Looking past the polish of prose and interrogating the substance of method, how can one become a peer reviewer that upholds the novelty, reproducibility, quality, and integrity of research manuscripts in a modern academic landscape where the line between human insight and machine-generated text continues to blur?
The Asian Society of Teachers for Research, Inc. is inviting you to participate in the Webinar on AI-Assisted Peer Review Using the Scopus and ISI Standards on May 21-22, 2026 via ZOOM Teleconferencing.
