BEST PRACTICES IN PEER REVIEW OF HIGH IMPACT SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATIONS

The Selah Garden Hotel, Pasay City, Manila, Philippines
August 9-12, 2018

The International Association of Scholarly Publishers, Editors and Reviewers (IASPER) with the SEC Registration No. CN201433407 is inviting you to participate in the Training/Workshop on Best Practices in Peer Review of High Impact Scientific Publications that will be staged on August 9-12, 2018 at The Selah Garden Hotel, Pasay City, Manila, Philippines.

Rationale

Peer review is an essential process of using experts to examine articles to find flaws so these can be corrected prior to publication and to prevent poorly written researches from contaminating the scientific community. Most trainings focused on scientific writing yet we lack trainings that prepare peer reviewers to be equal to the task given to them. Most journals have peer review system in place yet the peer review forms are broad and generic making these forms unable to measure compliance with higher publication standards. Hence, training on best practices in peer review intends to synthesize best practices as means to calibrate journal publication standards.

The Objectives are to:

  1. Acquire competencies in peer reviewing Qualitative and Quantitative scientific articles;
  2. Learn the basis of acceptance and rejection of articles;
  3. Write the Peer Review report;
  4. Differentiate, reviewing standards for multidisciplinary and discipline specific journals;
  5. Evaluate Editorial Policies, Editors and Journal impact as requisites for acceptance of peer review invitation; and
  6. Familiarize with the peer review culture of high impact journals.
