RATIONALE

The success or failure of a research student often depends on the quality of research advising and paneling, yet formal training in these areas remains scarce. Traditionally, research advisers and panelists rely on personal experiences and institutional norms when guiding students, often without structured methodologies or standardized best practices. However, the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and education has introduced new possibilities that can enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of research advising.

In today’s digital era, AI is transforming academic workflows by streamlining literature reviews, improving manuscript quality, detecting plagiarism, and assisting in data analysis. These technologies increase research productivity and help ensure alignment with global publishing standards. Additionally, AI can assist research panelists in providing more objective, data-informed feedback while reducing human biases in research evaluations.
