TRAINING-WORKSHOP ON MIXED METHOD RESEARCH DESIGN
August 28-30, 2025
Castle Peak Hotel, Cebu City
The International Association of Scholarly Publishers, Editors and Reviewers (IASPER) with the SEC Registration No. CN201433407 is inviting you to participate in the Training-Workshop on Mixed-Method Research Design on August 28-30, 2025 at Castle Peak Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines.
RATIONALE
In contemporary research landscapes, complex phenomena often require multifaceted approaches to achieve a comprehensive understanding. Traditional purely quantitative or qualitative methods, while valuable, may not always capture the full breadth and depth of a research problem. Mixed-method research, which systematically combines quantitative and qualitative approaches in a single study, offers a powerful alternative for exploring intricate research questions, triangulating findings, and generating richer insights. This design is increasingly recognized and valued across various disciplines for its ability to provide a more holistic and nuanced picture of reality.
This training-workshop is designed to equip researchers, academics, and graduate students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to conceptualize, design, and implement robust mixed-method studies. Participants will delve into the philosophical underpinnings, various design typologies, and the practicalities of integrating qualitative and quantitative data at different stages of the research process. Through structured discussions, hands-on activities, and expert guidance, attendees will gain confidence in developing mixed-method research proposals that are methodologically sound and aligned with their research objectives.
The training objectives are to:
- Comprehend the Fundamentals of Mixed Methods. Understand the definition, rationale, philosophical assumptions, and benefits of integrating quantitative and qualitative approaches in research.
- Identify and Select Appropriate Mixed-Method Designs.Differentiate between various mixed-method designs (e.g., sequential explanatory, sequential exploratory, convergent parallel, embedded) and determine the most suitable design for specific research questions.
- Formulate Integrated Research Questions. Develop clear and concise mixed-method research questions that guide both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Design Integrated Data Collection and Analysis Strategies. Plan the systematic collection and analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, focusing on techniques for effective integration at different research phases.
- Address Practical and Ethical Considerations. Recognize and navigate common challenges, ethical considerations, and best practices in designing and conducting mixed-method research.
