WEBINAR ON META-SYNTHESIS: PRINCIPLES, METHODS AND PROCESS OF SYNTHESIZING QUALITATIVE RESEARCH LITERATURE
November 19–21, 2026 | 8:00AM – 12:00NN
ZOOM Video Teleconferencing
The International Association of Scholarly Publishers, Editors and Reviewers (IASPER) with the SEC Registration No. CN201433407 is inviting you to participate in the Webinar on Meta-Synthesis: Principles, Methods and Process of Synthesizing Qualitative Research Literature on November 19-21, 2026 via ZOOM Video Teleconferencing.
RATIONALE
The growing body of qualitative research across various academic disciplines has generated valuable insights into human experiences, perspectives, behaviors, and complex social phenomena. As more qualitative studies are published in scholarly journals and produced through theses and dissertations, there is an increasing need to systematically integrate and interpret their findings to develop a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of existing knowledge.
Meta-synthesis offers a systematic and interpretive approach to synthesizing findings from multiple primary qualitative studies. Beyond summarizing individual research results, it enables researchers to identify recurring themes, examine patterns and relationships, generate new interpretations, and develop broader conceptual or theoretical insights. Through this approach, researchers can strengthen the contribution of existing qualitative evidence to theory development, professional practice, policy formulation, and evidence-informed decision-making.
Despite its growing relevance, conducting a rigorous meta-synthesis requires a sound understanding of its underlying principles, methodological approaches, and systematic procedures. Researchers must be equipped with the necessary competencies in formulating research questions, identifying and selecting relevant studies, appraising methodological quality, synthesizing qualitative findings, and ensuring the credibility and trustworthiness of the synthesis.
In response to these needs, this webinar aims to equip researchers, faculty members, graduate students, and other research practitioners with the essential knowledge and practical skills necessary to design and conduct a rigorous and meaningful qualitative meta-synthesis. By strengthening participants' methodological competencies, the webinar seeks to promote high-quality research synthesis and encourage the effective utilization of existing qualitative evidence in advancing scholarly knowledge and addressing contemporary research concerns.
OBJECTIVES
- Understand what meta-synthesis is.
- Discover how to design a meta-synthesis.
- Explore how to conduct a meta-synthesis.
- Discuss how to analyze and interpret meta-synthesis data.
- Reflect on ensuring quality in meta-synthesis.
